Episode 39: Wrangell’s Parks and Rec Director Lucy Robinson chatted with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki about many things that are going on: winter programs and activities, special events, volunteer opportunities and maintenance goals. The department encourages health and wellness for Wrangellites, so they host activities that support that, like the Winter Workout Challenge and open gym for youth during winter vacation.

Park’s and Recreation Director Kate Thomas said the pool is in dire need of more lifeguards to maintain open swims and aquatic classes. Right now, there are four lifeguards. Thomas said there should be 10, and that full-time staff are filling in.
