Wrangell’s Police Chief Gene Meek started a new tradition this year: a Christmas Card contest. He opened the contest up for 5- to 11-year-olds in November. Plus, there was an incentive to the contest: $100 from Meek’s own pocket for the winner.

General election voters voted at Wrangell’s Nolan Center on Tuesday. KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki went down to the convention center and talked with some of them about what’s important to them. The United States presidency, ranked-choice voting and raising the minimum wage in Alaska were the dominating issues on the ballot for most of the people she talked with. She sends this audio postcard.
