Position Announcement – Director of Engineering
The CoastAlaska Director of Engineering is both the engineering manager and hands on repair and problem solving person for a multi-station public media organization in Alaska. This person is the primary source for RF engineering solutions as well as a key member of the management team.
Position responsibilities include:
- Keeping technical facilities operational and maintained to standard engineering practice and in compliance with all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
- Remote troubleshooting to repair and reestablish signal service, often in coordination with non-technical staff via phone and IT for computer, broadcast, and production equipment.
- Maintains origination and transmission equipment including transmitters and translators, STLs, control room and studio equipment and computers.
- Provides routine onsite technical support.
- Maintain an engineering knowledgebase pertaining to troubleshooting and modification of station systems.
- Monitor changing technical needs of broadcasting and digital media to pursue regional standardization and meet local needs.
- Participate in supporting the efforts of the CoastAlaska technical team.

Salary: Range G, $80,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience, with a competitive benefit plan.
