Episode 38: We’re in holiday season now and Wrangell’s celebrating this weekend with the Community Tree Lighting and Midnight Madness. Chamber of Commerce Board Member Ed Caum spoke with KSTK’s Colette Czarnecki about what the Chamber is doing for holiday season. Not only are they putting on Midnight Madness, but they’re also hosting the Home Christmas Decorating Contest, the Business Decorating Contest and Jolly Shopping.

Correction: Midnight Madness has been going since the 1980’s while the Holiday Home Decorating has been going since the 1960’s.

Dec. 6: Tree Lighting and Midnight Madness. The Community Market and Santa will be at the Nolan Center from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Downtown will be closed to vehicle traffic between Ottesen’s and the Elk’s Lodge around 5 p.m. The High School choir will begin at 5:30 p.m and the tree lighting at 6 p.m. The Wrangell Volunteer Fire Department will serve popcorn and hot cocoa at the Pavilion after the tree lighting.
