Episode 10 of Talk on the Rock. Kevin Gadsey works for the Wrangell Cooperation Association’s new domestic violence department, W.E.A.V.E. – Wrangell Eliminating Abuse and Violence via Education. He speaks about the program’s vision and the process to make the advocacy work possible. He also discusses the May 5 event that will remember and honor Missing and Murdered Indigenous People.
Gadsey has a Master of Arts in Public Advocacy and Activism from the National University of Ireland, Galway. He also has been trained as an ombudsman for Vulnerable Adult Abuse Prevention and Intervention, where he’s trained others during his earlier time in Wrangell (2005-2012) as an independent living specialist for Southeast Alaska Independent Living.
