Another Wrangell resident has tested positive for COVID-19, city officials said Monday evening.

This is Wrangell’s 20th case of COVID-19, and the only active case currently in the community. Nineteen others who were previously diagnosed have since recovered.

The individual is asymptomatic and is now in isolation after testing positive during a routine testing program, city officials said, although they did not specify which program.

The city says the state Section of Epidemiology has been notified and that contact tracing for the case will begin shortly.

COVID-19 testing is available free of charge to the community from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. SEARHC’s COVID-19 hotline has more information at (907) 966-8799.
