Another Wrangell resident has tested positive for COVID-19, city officials said Wednesday evening.
This is Wrangell’s 19th case of COVID-19, and one of three active cases currently in the community. Sixteen others who were previously diagnosed have since recovered.
The individual is asymptomatic and is now in isolation after testing positive during a routine testing program, city officials said, although they did not specify which program.
The city says the Section of Epidemiology has been notified and that contact tracing for the case will begin shortly.
COVID-19 testing is available free of charge to the community from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday. SEARHC’s COVID-19 hotline has more information at (907) 966-8799.
