Two people were appointed to the Wrangell Borough assembly last night. Jim DeBord and Anne Morrison will serve on the board for one year, until the next election. DeBord works at Wrangell Medical Center as an occupational therapist. Morrison is retired and is a former mayor of Sitka.
Jennifer Bates, Andrew Hoyte and Dale Parkinson submitted letters of interest but were not appointed.
The appointments were made due to two vacancies. Steve Prysunka left his seat to become mayor, and Rolland Howell resigned to take a job with the city.
On other public councils, Annya Ritchie will serve on the Parks and Recreation advisory board. The Planning and Zoning Commission is still looking for two board members.
