Wrangell Power and Light Superintendent, Clay Hammer, reported to KSTK Tuesday morning that an event occurred at Ward Cove near Ketchikan that impacted the entire north end of the power distribution just before 7:00 am. Hammer says this event caused all of Wrangell and Petersburg to lose power and it took the local electrical crew a few minutes to sort things out and restore power to Wrangell residents. This event was not related to the planned power outage that was scheduled for earlier Tuesday morning for maintenance.
