Evergreen Avenue gets water main valve repair

The Public Works department was making repairs to a downtown water main Wednesday afternoon.

Carl Johnson is the director of Public Works.

“We have a broken main valve on Evergreen Avenue near Evergreen Court, which used to be Stough’s Trailer Court.”

The repair should be fairly easy, but is important to do.

Because it’s a problem with the water main, Johnson says residents in that area should expect a short period without water during the repairs.

“It’s just going to be a temporary shutdown, just long enough for us to close one valve and open another.”

He says the shutdown will affect part of Evergreen Avenue between the ferry terminal and Evergreen Trailer Court.

Public Works expected the work to be completed Wednesday afternoon.
